My second on moisture meter

I like it. I have thermometers and humidistats all over my house and they never match. This is the reading I trust. Knowing the humidity helps me understand why I'm freezing at 70 degrees.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Functionality

Very accurate. This is the right tool when it comes to HVAC and room temperature measurement. Some idiot inspectors in San Francisco use another instrument, like a laser, to read the temperature from the reflection. objects, which is not right.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Sad device

Not the best choice for professional use

I had this $150 replacement hygrometer that I can calibrate myself. I like to take 3 meters and let them stabilize for 20-30 minutes and see if the RH% is within a few dots. Accurately measuring relative humidity is MUCH more difficult than measuring temperature. If you have to measure the relative humidity for your work, you need at least 2 meters. I found the pen style comfortable, but the relative humidity sensor stopped calibrating in less than a month. I have measured 55-57% relativeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • Almost everything is there

One moisture sensor is defective, the other two still work perfectly 2

Bought three of these three years ago, one moisture sensor is defective, the other two still work perfectly2. After seeing my initial review, Rep said Extech sent me a replacement for the defective item. I'm amazed as I've had them for a while and it's normal (in my experience) for humidity sensors to fail over time. I'll sing her praises now that I have three fully functional (and still accurate to within 1 degree/percent) humidity and temperature sensors. Pencils. Fits perfectly in yourโ€ฆ

Pros
  • So far everything is like
Cons
  • Style 90

My second order of humidifier parts and accessories

Love it. I have thermometers and humidistats all over my house and they never match. This is the reading I trust. Knowing the humidity helps me understand why I'm freezing at 70 degrees.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Accurate and useful

Requires a hygrometer accurate below 40% humidity. Revain and EBAY have tons of cheap moisture meters, some selling for $2 or less. In dry weather they are completely inaccurate. I live in a dry part of California and the humidity often drops below 20% and during the Santa Ana winds it can drop to 5%. None of the cheap meters can measure humidity in dry air, so don't waste your money on this if you really want to know what the humidity level is on a dry day.

Pros
  • Quality construction
