Ideal for painting cars!

Any car enthusiast would be crazy to buy a premium sports car without a coating thickness gauge (aka: Lacomer). This is the only way to determine with certainty whether the color is real based on the thickness. CarFax and AutoCheck don't report an accident, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. There are many options, some cheaper and some much more expensive. Extech works well, it's easy to calibrate, it has several different modes of operation, etc. It's accurate enough for this purpose and

I recently bought some small storage bags for ziplock parts and wanted to know their thickness. I put a sample sheet of metal in a bag…

You get what you pay for.

I am a licensed auto appraiser, my business appraises around 3,000 cars a year, I have used many paint testers over the years and have decided to go with the Extech CG204 as my business expands and I am recruiting by about a dozen other field inspectors. I didn't want to spend $750 on a colorimeter and since I'll be buying a lot I wanted to try the cheap ones. Against this background, I unfortunately have to give this colorimeter 3 stars. .First, let me start with the pros: - Inexpensive…
