From good to better

The meter was an addition to my collection of tools needed to get the instrument up and running. It worked flawlessly right out of the box. The reviews I came across were in a slightly different direction, but my experience with this brand and related ones, if you will, allowed me to give it a try. The results are such that I want to thank Amazon, Extech and the delivery team. I received the pH calibration samples separately and am quite happy with the overall performance so far. Treat reviews…

This device is much better, smarter and faster

price of this device. This device is much better, smarter and faster. Proper calibration, storage, and device care will provide accurate and reliable results. No device works automatically. You must use it for its intended purpose. Read storage instructions and procedures and you will not be disappointed. I have this device Bought mainly because the sensor is replaceable. The sensor costs the most but the manufacturer has the logic built in to give you a good and reliable reading.Just maintain…

Pros
  • Includes meter, probe protection cap, sample cup, 4 SR44 button batteries and 1 48" (1.2 meter) neck strap
Cons
  • Expandable

constant reading -1

First let me say that I have experience with the ExTech pH100. However, this is my second "New and Improved" in a very short time. The first failed when the battery cover was tightened and was promptly replaced with Revain. The one I'm sending back today shows -1 all the time. I followed all the steps to fix it. I'm getting some weird readings and then some "accurate". I decided to just leave my trusty old man and buy another probe. We will discuss the situation again with the manufacturer…

Pros
  • The CAL function tells you when and when to recalibrate your meter
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen

Great gauge! (For the price) And great customer support

Good, so PH meters are expensive. Most laboratory equipment. If you need the highest level of accuracy, this is not your gauge. But if so, then don't look a meter on Revain. For most of us who need an accuracy of about a tenth, this is an amazing deal. I had one of these, it stopped working after about 9 months, I called tech support, a few days later they brought me a new one. Service at the highest level. Eventually I got tired of how long it took to get results and getting inconsistent…

Pros
  • REPLACE function tells you when and when to replace your pH electrode
Cons
  • Packaging is ugly
