Very important! best thermometer

great product! I use a Mac and don't want to mess around with PC only programs to download data from the monitor which most other monitors have. This writes to a memory card that you can insert into your Mac (or PC) with an adapter, and the data is stored in files as a tab-delimited spreadsheet. The filenames are *.XLS, but it's just a tab. -separated data that I could easily read in R. It stores 30,000 lines (date, time and readings for each sensor) in a file and then jumps to a new file. Easy to use thermometer recorder

This unit works as advertised and is ready to use. I find using an SD card to be the most convenient way to transfer data from the recorder to a computer, avoiding connecting the recorder directly to the machine and frequently using special access software. A word of caution: the description of the SD card format as compatible with Excel can be misleading. I was able to drag and drop data into an Excel clone for Linux, but I couldn't load the data the way I normally associate withโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Test, measure and check
Cons
  • Requires power outlet

Great little data logger

I took this data logger to monitor the transmission temp on my 2003 Honda Odyssey to see how high it was (the Odyssey is notorious for overheating the transmission). I attached a couple of K-Bead thermocouples to the metal part of the fluid lines that run between the gearbox and the radiator using aluminum foil (which can handle the heat) and thermal mastic to ensure good heat transfer between the lines and the TC ensure. I am very happy with this setup so far. As for the data logs, I importโ€ฆ
