Great product and price, much better than the slightly cheaper options

Tried several cheaper versions which proved unreliable or broke after a few days. It works from my office PC to my APC server UPS for UPS monitoring, it's about 50ft Category 5e and it's been working fine for over a month with no issues. I'm happy after solving some garbage problems

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Works fine for my use!

Usage: I have several smartboards (my own design) scattered around my house. I also have a small USB board that I use to reprogram the flash on these boards. The USB board features a Silicon Graphics CP2102 USB-UART bridge and a small microprocessor. It is USB powered but only draws about 10mA. I use this product with a 10ft micro USB cable and up to a 50ft CAT6 cable to connect my computer in my office to any board I want to flash. I am powering my USB board via a cable with no additional…

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons

Be very careful with this product.

To control the laser via USB. Cat. 5e cable laid, RJ45 plug installed, connections tested with a cable tester, and the connection tested. Nothing. Checked all connections and the remote felt very hot. The smell of hot plastic was everywhere. Replaced it with a long USB cable (which I'm trying to replace) and everything worked great. I returned it the next day.

Pros
  • nice thing

burst and lit up, what more is there to say?

I tried it on a cable about 50 feet long. I had a low consumption USB 2.0 device that I plugged into it. It didn't work with a cable, but it did work over a short distance, so I added a power adapter to the end of the device to increase performance. There was cotton, smoke and a terrible smell. I don't know if my cable was misconnected or what, but I threw it in the trash - because it is.

Pros
  • Long range
Cons
  • disappears

It is suitable for charging a remote USB device

I ordered this so I can charge an iPad in a vandal proof case in the hallway at work. There is no electricity nearby. I don't use it to send or receive data, just charge it. I had an old Cat 5e cable in my garage, so I attached two RJ-45 ends to it and connected it to my phone's charger using USB to Ethernet adapters. Cat 5 is 70 feet long. When I connected it to my Galaxy s7 phone, the charging alarm played and a message appeared saying "Charging is taking longer than usual, use the charger…
