Excellent playback quality and durability

The packaging was excellent. The devices powered on with no issues and were instantly recognized by my 2017 MacBook Air. I tested my favorite film "Gone with the Wind". Playback was flawless with no sync issues. Good, quiet, compact, well thought out device. Very happy with my purchase. I can highly recommend the product.

Works great on Win10 box, Linux Mint as well as CloudReady ChromeOS.

I played various DVDs and CDs, burned a DVD movie on the W10 and plugged it into my CloudReady ChromeOS USB hub. It reads and plays VOB, mp3, mp4, etc. No extra steps required, just plug n play. Everything worked as it should, no problems. I am not affiliated with the seller, Mfr or Amzn, have not received any compensation or gifts for this review.

I bought it. I tested it once. I put it in my laptop bag.

. and when i tried to use it the usb got disconnected. Then he returns. Then it cuts off. etc. It seems like the cable is being squeezed or the connector isn't fully inserted, but it doesn't take more than 3 minutes before it fails. Pooh. Too bad I waited months before the actual test - too late to come back again.

Plug it in right! in External Components

The computer recognized the DVD/RW with no problems. The program with the DVD player started up without any problems. We installed a video player program but the video never played. There was a bug regarding the need to change video resolution. We downloaded another program and then the player worked perfectly!

I used it twice and it died. The solution was stupid.

I used this disc player twice and the third time (to access old photos on old discs) it stopped working. Plugged it in and it worked, the light was flashing green so I put the DVD in and that was it. I had to remove the disc with a paper clip. The return window just ended so I said it's a double hockey stick let me disassemble it. The USB cable is just a mini USB cable that is plugged into the drive board and unplugged. I plugged it back in and the drive immediately started working again. On…

The best computer components didn't last long

Started working sporadically a few months after purchase. Now it rarely works. The broken part sticks out. The short cable is impractical to use. Very surprised this is a Revain favorite.

Get the job done! best in Computers & Accessories

I ordered this so I can download the CD software onto my new HP Scepter laptop that doesn't have a CD drive. The product is nice and thin and has a hidden USB cable. It's literally plug and play, put in the software CD and my computer recognized it with no problems. Very easy!

NOT USB 3.0 best on optical drives

Yes the connector is blue but it doesn't have the extra five USB 3 pins and doesn't support USB 3.x speeds. However, you will never achieve USB 3.x speeds when reading from an optical disc. Two stars deducted for false advertising. The image on the left shows a USB CD drive and on the right the actual USB 3.0 connector (from another product). Also, it has worked on two CDs so far.
