A little difficult to install, but works well

I replaced a 50-foot 3/8-inch hose that I had looped over a hook with this reel. It was always a pain to put back after I’d used it.Installation was a bit tricky, because two of the holes in the mounting plate are behind the reel, so you can’t access those holes without removing the reel. Then once you have the mounting plate installed, you need to replace the reel, and that was difficult for me because I had it mounted high on a wall. Hose cannot be replaced if damaged

The hose is crimped directly to the hub fitting. As far as I could tell, there wasn't a way to easily replace the hose. If the hose gets damaged, you'll need to buy a whole new unit -- reel and all. Also, as others have mentioned, the hose smells like death (hopefully it is not out-gassing something unhealthy).

Highly recommended good for me

This is the best bang for your buck that I have found. It works great and always retracts back up. Ive been using it in my garage shop for about half a year now and I'm very happy with it. I purchased a harbor freight one before this and returned it within a week because it wouldn't retract at all. This one does! Buy it.

The hose wouldn’t return into the reel :(

Hi guys! I just wanted to write this review because I am a detailer and this was recommended by Detail Groove on YouTube. I loved it for what it was very flexible hose, metal housing blah blah blah however the 5th time I used it the tension of spring ended up getting messed up for some odd reason and didn’t fully retract the hose into its reel. About 7 feet’s worth of hose wouldn’t return into the reel. I’m trying to be as honest as I can so you guys can make a judgment call hopefully this…

Great product. for my opinion

This product has been a great addition to my garage. It makes using the air compressor so much easier and saves me time because I don’t have to manually whined the hose.

Quality Construction; Metal Housing

I bought this retractable hose reel for use with my 5 gal Bostitch pancake air compressor, and it works flawlessly.Mounting was a breeze - the product comes with solid lag bolts and mortar anchors, so I had to go to my local hardware store to buy heavy-duty drywall anchors (the stud nearby was already used with a 12 ga electrical reel). Works Great, Recommended!

I chose to mount this REELWORKS Retractable Air-Hose-Reel to the wall. I lag bolted it to the wall studs, just above my air compressor. This made for an organized set up. The factory-adjustment for air hose return tension was fine; I did not have to readjust it. To date, I am completely satisfied with this unit. Allows me to conveniently inflate tires on both autos in the garage, or even outside in the driveway. I would recommend!
