Best for welding and soldering

This trigger serves its purpose perfectly. It's not perfect, but it creates enough airflow to reduce soldering odor a bit. It also looks well built and the extra filters are a nice touch. I would like to point out that for best results you should try to solder no more than 6" away from the fan if possible. My only complaint about this product, which is why I'm only giving it 4 stars, is that it's a bit noisy.

Excellent build quality, good airflow, carbon filters can be used as a placebo

I don't really know how effective the charcoal filter is at removing bad odors from the air and from what I've read elsewhere it probably isn't very effective. Flux fumes away before they reach my face. I work in a well-ventilated area, so unless I get a concentrated burst of roughness in my face, I'm not concerned about the filter's performance. There are probably cheaper fans out there that could do the same thing, but I'm happy with this purchase. The build quality is actually very good (Iโ€ฆ

Very powerful fan but complicated filter

I love how powerful this thing is compared to the noise. Due to the amount of soldering smoke, its noise level is ideal. It's not quite right, but not as loud as my air conditioner in the next room. It gets louder if it's on rickety furniture, but I think that's ok. Heavy laboratory table. I would give 5 stars if it wasn't for the filter change. You will need to carefully remove the flat head screws that hold the bottom panel in place. Then release it by removing the fan blade cover on theโ€ฆ
