Premium 16-Strand Diamond Braid Utility Rope - 1/2 Inch x 25 Feet, Red Review

The image accompanying this review shows the appearance of the red rope after 3 months of use in the sun. It only took a few weeks for the red paint to fade, and after a few more months the outer rope began to peel. The inner cords SEEM strong, but now they're just thin cords. It's probably good value if you need it indoors, but plenty if you use it outdoors.

I would say this is very good for service ropes. The braiding of the outer shell is very pleasant, it is even, dense and appears durable. The product is of really good quality. The rope is also very stiff and a bit rough. It would be great as a service rope as advertised if you are mindful of the added security of the knots used as the stiffness does not allow the knot to be held. I would suggest something softer if you want some fun in the bedroom.

Depending on what you want to use this rope for, it can work. But for my needs of pulling up a 7lb anchor from a seated position, that's not very good. The rope is a little rough on hands because it is not soft. The real softness shows the material used and I assume the weave. And yet, without softness, it affects torsion, which is important in a boat. However, if you want to use this rope for other purposes, e.g. for backing things up, this might be a good deal for you and might work.
