It works fine on Windows, but not on Linux.

Works on Windows. OK. The latency is low, which is a plus, but for some reason it sometimes leads to serious slowdowns. Linux support is even worse. Although you can connect a capture device, you can't change FPS or resolution without crashing in Manjaro and Solus. It seems Linux also defaults to 640x480. Also, if you connect the audio output in OBS, the video will disappear. Updating the firmware from the site does not help. I wouldn't pay $80 for it to be honest, but I can see where it can…

Pros
  • *UVC standard, plug and play, no driver installation required, compatible with Windows/Mac/Linux/Android.
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

False 1080p on computer components

. It simulates 1920 x 1080 resolution and compresses it to 1280 x 720 or lower for recording. Basically, the resulting video is lower than your original content. I was surprised that it was low latency, but for the price it's not worth it. There are much better "true 1080p" recorders out there for the same money. I'm sending it back. It's a shame that nobody was able to answer my questions about this before I bought it.

Pros
  • * Works with any 3rd party software (OBS, VLC, PotPlayer, Vmix, etc.). Support for RTMP video streaming, webcasting and video conferencing on Skype, Twitch, DailyMotion, Hitbox, Facebook Live, Youtube Live, Livestream, Ustream, Dacast, Wowza Cloud...
Cons

Not true 1080p on computers and accessories

Does the same as a number of other cheap UVC recorders.

Pros
  • * With the microphone input, you can easily record voice and video together. HDMI pass-through lets you connect to a large display after streaming to play a game.
Cons
  • Legacy
