I ordered the belt in October 2019. It arrived quickly and was of good quality. I have used but not abused the strap almost every day since it arrived. On January 15, 2020 (almost 3 months to date), I felt that the plate with the buckle was loose. I removed the strap and found two small screws inside holding the buckle together. The free end or nose of the strap runs BEHIND the buckle, under the strap, between me and the strap. Think about it. To tighten it, you need to grab the loose end under the strap and pull until the tension strap pinches your fingers. It turns out a very neat belt with no visible end. But I've worn my own belts for about 70 years and now I know why each of them had a free end through the buckle and outside (NOT inside) the rest of the belt.

First of all, be careful not to pinch yourself when closing the standing buckle. To close the working buckle, simply push it from behind with your thumb and index finger of your opposite hand. Thus, the force cannot unintentionally open the standing buckle. I also prefer to open the working clasp with my thumb from behind and two fingers apart. Strap fits nylon/mesh straps. It slips a bit and doesn't have as secure a hold as a ratchet strap, which actually has staggered clicks on the inside. The release mechanism on the bottom of the buckle can be a bit annoying because I have had cases where the belt has slipped a bit and the release has gotten caught in the buttonhole of the pants and got wedged behind the button. I've been using fabric belts with buckles for a long time. I never cared about how the skin would eventually tear, and the idea of wearing a dead animal's skin around my waist never really worked for me. The buckles are also quicker and easier to use than traditional belts with holes, not to mention they're versatile when trying to shed weight and transitioning between pant sizes.
