Pass it on: Sanding sheets

Bought this to sand a crib that I needed to paint. My project took a long time because you probably won't get any benefit from any of them. I was able to sand a small area 3-4 times and it removed almost nothing. At this point I would have to turn off the paper. The paper also tears easily. I ended up paying a little more for better quality sandpaper and the process went much faster.

Pros
  • Sold in a pack of 25 sheets
Cons
  • I'll write later

Reason to be Cheap - Power Tool Parts and Accessories

This 220 grit sandpaper was junk. The paper was very brittle. When folded, the sanding surface broke off and came loose at the creases (I mean significant pieces that came loose from the paper backing). When using a whole sheet (no fold), the paper was easily torn. It's almost "crisp" if that makes sense. I've used this on wood (walnut, pine, and cedar). The grinding surface quickly loaded and was not freed, so after a few hits it decayed. It is definitely NOT WORTH the money.

Pros
  • Softer feel and less scratching
Cons
  • Some flaws

Be careful luthiers. This paper will let you down.

I rarely write reviews but in this case it was justified. You get a lot of sandpaper for the money, but be aware that sandpaper wears out very quickly. I build guitars and I usually buy 3M paper or something like that, but I decided to give it a try. If you're sanding soft wood lightly, you might be fine. I sand guitar bodies, exotic wood necks, but that's not my job. It charges very quickly and wears out just as quickly. Save yourself the hassle and don't skimp on the sandpaper.

Pros
  • Perfect paper for wood
Cons
  • Only available in white
