A good starter set is good for cookware

I would call this a 'starter set' of cookware: good for students, first home residents etc. So good enough (and big enough). ) ) until you have enough money and experience in the kitchen to know what quality cookware you need. They heat and clean well, although they will scratch if you're not careful. Bonus points for colorful choices: Makes it easy to know which kitchen items are yours when you're packing or out with your roommates!

Not designed for above average heat

I found these pans to be pretty and, although inexpensive, fit the purpose. Boy was I wrong. When I use them on my gas stove at above average heat, they fill the house with the worst, most toxic smell. We need to open all the windows and exit the kitchen. The bottom and sides are already painted and already at least ugly. They are not suitable for cooking at lower temperatures. What a waste. No boiling water or cooking anything above the minimum level for eggs or braising.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Annoying

They contain PFOA, which causes cancer.

I just saw the movie Dark Water and found out about Dupont's PFOA which has been shown to cause cancer. I will throw them away as it seems my return date has already passed. I had to do a little digging to find the attached image as it is not in the description. Google Dupont PFOA and read up on the case if you're not watching the film. I'm going to throw away all my teflon pots and pans and recycle them into something safer. I think you all should know, I hope this review helps you all!

With these great pans you get everything in the picture

With these great pans you get everything in the picture. take a bigger one, but i needed a bigger one. I used the largest skillet and was able to fit a hamburger assistant in it, and it had plenty of room. Otherwise this set is great. They are so easy to clean I even put them in the dishwasher to see how they hold up and they did a great job. I've only had this set for a month but so far I'm loving them. I would buy them again. If you need a larger pan I just went to Walmart and got one for $15

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Perfect fit in purple!

Excellent cookware that is so easy to clean because it can be put in the dishwasher! I ordered this particular Farberware set (in my favorite purple!) to replace my 40 year old Revere cookware because I really wanted a non-stick cookware set (with glass lids) instead! Farberware cookware works and washes well and I love the clear lids! (Wish ALL pots and pans had lids - and interchangeable lids would be an even bigger "plus"/perk! - but that's a minor complaint!). All in all I'm very happy with

No Non-Hobbits Required

I bought this set to replace the pots and pans my husband and I got for our wedding 15 years ago. We don't cook much so I figured it would be a useful substitute. While I was wary of the low price, I know Farberware is a good brand and I really wanted something nice, dishwasher safe and non-stick. Well, now I know why they're cheap - they're SMALL! Seriously, about half the size of everything in our old set. This might be a great option for a student in their first apartment, but not for…

Ideal for a single person or a couple without children.

I ordered these for temporary use until I buy a more expensive set. BUT once I got them I might keep them a little longer. My only downside is that I have a family of 4 and they are a lot smaller than the set I had before. But they have a great color and the price is quite decent. True, now I'm extra careful with them since they're covered with teflon. I bought these, I chose this color because for some reason they were cheaper than others) Another bonus that surprised me was a large frying pan
