Great little unit. Good price given the presence of a rev limiter.

Excellent kit. I had to modify the bracket as it wasn't intended for the Caddy transfer case, but it saved the motor from the leading foot drive. This is the second one I've used. First was built on the Camaro '69. Street tires and straight-ahead driving make a rev limiter a must.

Pros
  • Precision Timing - Operated from a factory precise timing cam, the XR-I point conversion improves timing accuracy without complicated ignition boxes.
Cons
  • Contact seller

The rev limiter is great.

I installed Pertronix in a Ford 15 years ago and it still works great so I was a bit hesitant to try another brand. My 1972 SBC needed something and was sold with a rev limiter so I bought this cockerel ignition kit. It was just as easy to install as Pertronix and works just as well. The rev limiter is easy to set and works great.

Pros
  • Fits Chevrolet 1957-1974

EZ install in Replace Parts

I installed FItech fuel injection on a 1962 Cadillac engine in a 1940 Ford. Unknown to me, FItech fuel injection does not work with a point distributor. I bought these to replace a point ignition system after the point ignition engine was running really bad. I installed the distributor module in the engine and they installed it very easily. The hardest part was installing the rubber bushing on the manifold. Follow the directions, use the right spool and it's easy. Overall it drives much better.

Pros
  • Easiest NO retrofit - the FAST XR-I NO replacement module simply bolts directly in place of the switch assembly. It doesn't get much easier than that.
Cons
  • Long delivery
