Broken screw fits camera mounts and clamps

EDIT: Updated my rating from 2 to 1 star because even the replacement had the exact same issue. Doesn't handle larger DSLR configurations (mine was barely 5 pounds). The screw connecting the arm to the suction cup plate is loose and couldn't support the weight of anything, let alone bumpy roads. I exchanged the item, assuming it was just a defective product, but no, the replacement product also had the same problem. You set everything up, then screw on the camera and watch as the pointer slowly

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Almost everything is there

sticks! Could use a longer arm extension, but great block!

I was afraid to try this because I didn't want to lose my camera. But when I tried it on my table, I was able to raise the table! And when I put it on the car (wipe the surface first) I was able to rock the WHOLE CAR with it. Great device for the price. On some vehicles with window curves, you can use a longer arm extension. This made it impossible for me to get the cups up to window level in the car we were using, so camera angles were somewhat limited, but I still got what I needed. Although…

Great sturdy alternative to a tripod!

I love this product. A Z tilt mount has been added and it works great. Fantastic for microphotography. Fix it to a hard table and take care of it. Strong enough to rip the edge of a dining table off the floor. Also indispensable for night shots and outdoor shots in low light. Attach it to your car and you won't find a more secure mount for your camera. Bought to mount on the inside of a car window to photograph lightning in a downpour - unfortunately haven't been able to try it for that yet. no

Wow, this thing is worth the money!

Okay, everyone wants the cheapest they can get, right? Well, I know that camera mounts, especially when used on vehicles that drive over bumps, withstand 100+ mph winds, etc., have to be good. I chose this mount and am very happy with it. I have used many mounts over the years and this is by far the most secure suction cup mount I have ever used. I love all the versatility. You can adjust the angle of the 2 suction cups for mounting on curved/inclined surfaces, and then you can use the dual…

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • Not the best

Sturdy construction supported by a small mirrorless camera with a modest fixed focal length lens, mated to a Sunway photography baseplate. I would never trust a single mount with a valuable camera, so I took this dual mount and happily used it for an hour of shooting. Attaches to a number of external locations for photographing a moving car - the door, hood and roof of the car. Very happy with its durability. The only time this mount moved was when the car's surface wasn't rigid - for example…

Stays in place - just wish it had more accessories

Worked great taped to a glass wall on a cruise ship during a week at sea (for time lapse with a Brinno TLC200Pro camera). The only criticism is the accessories. Because the ball is a custom size, no other ball attachment accessories and clamps (not mentioning the Capricorn male's brand) will work with it. initially. Knowing I would have to deal with the railing and not risk attaching it to the outside of the glass, I ended up getting a ¼"-20 socket head hole with a 1" ball and then used the 1"…

Sturdy mount, with a few pitfalls

Before proceeding with the review, I used: Nikon D7000 35mm 1.82012 Subaru Impreza First off, this mount is rock solid when installed correctly. As long as you make sure the suction cups are secure (that is, you double-click them and then secure them with strong plastic clips), they're not going anywhere. I began testing the mount at 20, 30, and 55-60 mph (highway) with the camera mounted squarely on my hood. At all those speeds, the vibrations were pretty obvious, but I realized that this…

Very durable accessories

I bought this camera mount three years ago to use with my DSLR but to be honest I didn't use it much until this year. I've always been very paranoid about using it with my DSLR outside of a moving car, even after using it many times while mounting it in a car (never dropped it or anything). I recently mounted a GoPro on a Jeep's windshield and went off-road. After about 45 minutes of intense pounding over rough terrain, rocks and hills, this thing didn't budge! When installing, make sure the…
