LARGE WIFI CARD: Network Cards

Now you can see the $20 price and wonder if this is a good option. I just built a computer on a budget and finished yesterday and I was amazed at how easy it was to install this wifi card and connect to my internet with no issues. My room is upstairs in my house and the router is downstairs and records just as well as downstairs. This Wi-Fi card will probably be the best option apart from Wi-Fi USB sticks. But overall I am a happy customer.

Great value for money, driver installation is confusing.

Installing it on your computer is as easy as it should be. Loading the driver was a bit confusing. The instructions don't explain that Feb Smart doesn't have a driver for this device and that you need to download it from the website they link to. It worked in the end, but a bit more confusing than it should have been. Running Windows 7 Pro on this computer. Depending on the instructions, your Windows 10 experience may differ. We're playing on this PC, so it works with online gaming (using AT&Tโ€ฆ

easy to install and works great

is very easy to install and doesn't require external USB power like many other Wi-Fi cards I've seen in my search. Low profile bracket included and easy to install. I installed this in an old Dell Optiplex 7010 and it works great. I live in the middle of nowhere with mediocre internet coverage at best, so I can't comment on the speeds it can reach. I didn't have to fiddle with the driver disk that came with it, it worked for me right out of the box.

OpenBSD access point (hostap) - working but slow

I use this card in my OpenBSD firewall. Pros: - Works. There are very few 11n chips that OpenBSD supports in Hostap mode, this is one of them - Installation was as easy as can be - Plug in the card, it was supported out of the box. Cons: - Speed - 2.1MB/s connects to this card, same laptop talks to Verizon router and shows 6MB/s in speed test. 6 MB/s is the speed of my internet connection (fios), which means the laptop can run at higher speeds. The maximum speed of this card is 25 Mbit/s, which

Very fast WiFi for older computers.

Nice little Wi-Fi adapter for our 11 year old computer that we moved to a finished loft. Works great, connects to our router 2 floors down. Fast considering our old computer can handle a PCIe 2.0 port. Haven't lost the signal yet. He sometimes pauses when his daughter is playing Genshin Impact online, which wasn't the case with Ethernet. Maybe over time I'll move the cable to the attic, but for now it's working. No lost connections or other problems.

  • Nice
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

I purchased the supposed FebSmart "Wi-Fi Adapter" here at Revain based on the company's description text. FebSmart implies that it is easy to connect to the network via WiFi. However, FebSmart refuses to make it clear that this is only an addition to a network card or router. Without a network card, the so-called FebSmart WiFi adapter is completely useless. Worse, when I went to the local post office to return the item, FEBSMART PAYED ME $5.19 FOR RETURN POSTAGE! "Caveat Emptor" is the phraseโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Boring packaging

My mom is good enough with computers to turn them on, search google and email links to cat videos. For everything else, she usually calls for help, and sometimes I have to use TeamViewer remotely when that's not enough. She recently moved to a new location with WiFi, but her simple little desktop PC didn't have WNIC. So I bought this and sent it to her, thinking that worst case scenario she might return it or hold onto it until I was on her neck of the woods to install it. Well I called to seeโ€ฆ
