I love these bulbs and they match my lamp perfectly. Same PL13/27K light as before. From what I've read they may not work properly with electronic ballasts (e.g. Ottlite). I'm a little worried too, but I expect a few/several years of use, although others have reported a very short lifespan. I will update my review if I encounter any issues. I purchased this product as a cheaper replacement option for Ottlite bulbs. Compared to the "white" light from Ottlite, they emit a significantly more yellow light. I don't know how this will affect eye strain, but so far the savings are significant. UPDATE: The first bulb failed after 45 days. It became noticeably darker and began to flicker, as happens when replacing. The original Ottlight lasted almost three years. 45 days indicates it is defective. Please note that I have changed my mind on this product. After much more research, I decided that the failure of these bulbs, as I noted below, was caused by a faulty bulb, NOT the bulbs. To be honest I've changed my rating to an "average" three stars - not because I find the lamps either good or bad, but because of a lamp malfunction I couldn't find anything. .
