Total confidence in Fel-Pro. Install and forget

Exactly as described. After scraping off the tiny bits of the old gasket with my fingernail and rag, this gasket stuck just as expected. I tightened the bolts evenly, alternately, and then used my torque wrench (mainly because I rarely get the chance) to tighten each to 29 ft.lbs. The engine was lifted and brought back to normal operating temperature and no leaks were found. An added bonus is that the old Pontiac intake manifolds are light blue, so guess what?

Pros
  • Meets or exceeds all OE specifications
Cons
  • old

RTV is not required! - Replacement Parts

Fel-Pro makes the best automotive gaskets and this gasket fits my 1976 Corvette Stingray's intake manifold perfectly! (I have Edelbrock Performer). Very easy to install and I also replaced the old thermostat with an ACDelco part. All you have to do is clean the contact surfaces well and install the gasket. Again, don't use an RTV. Torque the water cap bolts to 20 ft-lbs, reinstall the top hose and tighten the clamp, fill the radiator with the correct coolant and you're done!

Pros
  • Checked fit, form and function
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Good seal, does not fit and does not leak.

I have a 1990 Chevy K2500 pickup with a 350 engine and it suits me perfectly. I'm in the high desert with very hot days. and even hotter asphalt. So my engine seemed to be hotter than I wanted so I went down to a 180 degree thermostat stant 13008 stant 13008 - 180 degrees Fahrenheit and it's working much more normally now. You can get both items for about $5. I don't normally change the thermostat as often as I should, but since I installed new radiator hoses and changed the coolant, it wasn't…
