Cannot tighten NPT fittings

NPTF threads are not properly tapered as I have tried several NPTM fittings which have all "sat through" the filter face without being over tightened will. I applied tons of thread tape and TFE paste so it's helping now. a leak.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Works best in Hydraulics, Pneumatics and Plumbing

I use this in my hydroponic system as a filter before irrigation manifolds. So far it's been working great, catching larger debris entering the system. It was also very easy to clean.

Pros
  • Hydraulics, Pneumatics and Plumbing
Cons
  • So far so good

WARNING WILL LEAK fits valves

I should have known better when I tested the installation, it won't fit 1/2"npt. It's the same thread but straight, won't seal properly and is causing leaks. I installed this as a replacement for my 2005 Casita caravan and after a few days of driving back unattended my caravan was flooded and I am dissatisfied. Would not recommend this product to my worst enemy!

Pros
  • float valves
Cons
  • was damaged
