I bought this because I thought it would work better and be easier to clean than the wire strainer I now use in my sink. Luckily I can report that it does just that, but I can also report an unexpected side benefit, it's more of a strainer for your sink than a colander, and it clogs very easily with dirt that can't get through. Compared to my wire strainer, I would say this filter clogs the entire sink about 50% faster on average after my use. Wire mesh filter and I will replace it when needed.

They are much easier to keep clean than traditional filters/plugs that have rubber plugs attached. These rubber plugs always collected scale and cleaning took twice as long as these screens.
