I ordered a large hamster cage from Ferplast. Assembled the cage is pretty but has a lot of small details. I don't like the included "home" for the Syrian hamster (aka Hammy teddy bear). There are no air holes in the top of the white sleeping area, so the hamster cannot breathe when filling the litter. This cage was a disaster from start to finish. It arrived cracked and broken in several places but we were able to contact customer service and were given a replacement. This should be a warning sign to me that the problem was plastic. The wheel was a constant problem. Our hamster can push his body out from under the wheel, throw him out of his seat and break out of the cage. It happened twice in the middle of the night. This cage is very nice and a decent size. Based on the true space requirements of hamsters, I would say this is best for dwarf hamsters, if any. Visit the Hamster Hideout forum thread under Accessories & Accessories titled Large Cage Case if you need some food for thought on cage size.
