Type of review

It rained heavily, flooded and worked. An alarm was triggered on the device and the connected home automation. First he was alerted after a very small amount of water and did his job. I don't have a reference point with other sensors but it seems to work fine. The temperature sensor is useful for low temperature warnings.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Poor instructions

Works well, I put it on a plastic sheet, wish it was louder.

Works great with Samsung SmartThings. First I had a problem with the battery. The unit was in the basement and I thought it might be using more energy due to residual moisture on the floor. So I put it on a sheet of plastic and that seems to have fixed the battery life issue. The only thing I have is that I would like the beep to be a lot louder.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not bad

Terrible instructions! Not for those without Z-Wave experience.

The instructions in the box are absolutely useless. There are some more detailed instructions online if you can find them. However, they are confusing. It also seems that you have to buy the app from these people in order to use all the features of this device. As a Z-Wave device it seems to work, although it took a few tries to connect and I'm still not sure if it's right.

Pros
  • Quality build
Cons
  • Speed

Terrible unreliable flood sensor

Terrible product! Once connected to my hub, placed next to a water heater, and after that first day it wouldn't stay connected no matter where it was. I've tried placing it next to a SmartThings hub, but it still doesn't maintain a stable connection. I've also tried unplugging it from my SmartThings hub and then plugging it back in again and again, it appeared once and then magically disappeared even though it was right next to the hub. Unreliable! I do not recommend this product as a moisture…

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Only available in black

Works well - water detectors and alarms

Connects easily to Samsung Smartthings. It has a fairly loud high-pitched beep to alert you to wet surfaces. Through Smartthings gives a notification to my phone. It detects water well and rarely triggers low humidity alarms after my limited use. 2.5 months in use, battery charge 85%. I have tested it several times during this time and it works. It beeps annoyingly when you move it as part of a tamper alarm (not a full alarm but a warning tone) which I couldn't figure out how to turn off. It's…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Has flaws

Nonexistent customer service for warranty replacement

I bought about six Fibaro water leak sensors in the last year. The youngest device failed after just two months, i.e. within the 24-month warranty period. The device went offline and got stuck on factory reset (which other people have previously described as a problem). I contacted Fibaro's US office several times over the week via email support-usa@fibaro.com with no response. Water leak detectors are great when they work, but $50 is way too expensive to throw away after just two months. It is

Great for home sensors and alarms

I really like it. It's a lot nicer than I thought. The three probes are spring-loaded so they touch the ground (and are gold-plated). The sensor has an LED backlight and a sound signal. It's not loud, but if you notice it in the next room it is. There are pins for an optional water sensor (optional, not included - use cable) and DC power (optional, not included). When you connect it to a DC power source, the device becomes a standard zwave repeater. I haven't tried it, so I can't say anything…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Fair
