Purchased, found out via the app that the mesh tape is really not needed. As it turns out, the thin set is used in the pad before you attach the mesh strap. No glue required. Save a few bucks and buy glue-free mesh tape.

This is a really great material - it sticks very well to my cement board without being too sticky - just right for staying in place. I've only used less than 1/4 of the material and still have a large roll for the next project. Simply cut with a utility knife.

Excellent! Sticks very well. I've used several other brands of alkali resistant tape and I love this one. It's sticky, it's soft, and its fibers can be twisted a bit, allowing it to shape into corners, around curves, and into uneven areas. All other ribbons had a hard grid where the "squares" in the ribbon remained square, so the ribbon ended up with small creases that stuck out. Very annoying.
