This is a must have for every home. Everyone thinks they don't need them, but I once had a friend whose grill caught fire and set the house on fire. Fortunately, firefighters put it out before any serious damage was done, but the fire extinguisher wasn't enough. It would be a way to stop it before it spreads.

Great to have this as a way out of a scary situation. We thought we would need it, but we were able to completely put out the fire with water. I folded it up and put it back in my pocket and now I have a bunch of fiberglass shards in my hands. I wish there was something on the packaging to warn against this. I didn't even think about the material and I didn't really know fiberglass shards were a thing. But now I know.

One for my kitchen (where a fire in a frying pan can be a problem) and one for my car (if I ever need to pull someone out of a broken and burning car that would be very helpful). I bought this a few months ago because I live on the fourth floor in NYC and don't have a fire escape and even though I've lived here for ten years I had an instant panic attack from being caught in a fire. I bought them for myself and then sent them to all my family members. Tonight I'm cooking a burger on the electric grill on my patio. I use one of those grill safe rubber mats to keep it cleaner - I think that's the culprit.
