It's expensive but worth the money. I tried a cheaper clamp from another manufacturer before buying it, but it was nowhere near as good as the Fieldpiece.

Thermocouple is not galvanically isolated from metal tube contact. Therefore, if you try to measure the temperature with two or more sensors on electrically connected pipes, the measurement will be erroneous. I tested this effect by sticking a piece of tape on the contact.

I've had field measuring devices for years and the same problem keeps occurring - these temperature clamps have springs that are too strong on the inside and the plastic is too brittle. Not durable at all, for $60 you expect better quality and engineering. In terms of accuracy, they're pretty accurate, within a degree or two.
