Too slim; Too much plastic

later These things are too expensive for what they are. First of all the size. They are about 4 and 3/4 inches wide. They glued 3/8 inch wide magnets around the perimeter. This leaves only 4 inches of effective area to push air through. Measure your 120mm fan. See how much the magnets interfere with the blades. The entire filter is "just" wide enough to cover the width of a 120mm fan "without" the magnets. It's just sloppy and cheap. The second point is the filter itself. They took a thin piece

They look good, last well and are valuable. But the airflow is rather weak.

Looking through the comments I've seen some reviews say they don't hold up well but to be honest they hold up great, at least for me. In fact, they also look very nice, the edges are very well rounded, there are no creases or damage, and overall the construction looks great. They're great at catching dust, I'll give them that. However, they severely restrict airflow and the holes are SMALL. This isn't a problem with the PC I used it on because I just wanted to close the unused fan grills to…

Restricts airflow but is well built.

So if you're thinking of buying one, you're obviously worried about what ends up inside your computer. You don't need dust, of course, but fresh, cool air and lots of it. This filter is very restrictive of airflow and in my application with two 140mm Noctua fans as intake fans, this filter just wasn't letting enough air through. This resulted in excessive temperatures in my setup and negative air pressure with (and getting) a stock exhaust fan on the back of my case. The air literally came in…
