Burns clean, odorless, closes poorly

Real oil is fine - burns clean and odorless. My complaint is about the bottle. When it's closed, it doesn't close well. The cap looks a bit like a childproof cap, but doesn't really seal the bottle completely. I took it too hard and lamp oil leaked out from under the tightened cap. Once it was also pushed off the shelf and spilled. Flammable liquid is not what you need in a leaking bottle!

  • Stable test results

  • Waiting too long

You get what you pay for

I use oil candles almost exclusively at home and I usually light 5 candles each night (all from Fire Fly - love them!). I usually buy another brand of liquid paraffin at my local wholesale store, mainly because it's cheaper than that brand. When I moved I couldn't find my regular brand so I couldn't resist and ordered this one. I have to say what I really like is that it has a comfortable spout and has NO odor. Although my regular brand claims to be odorless, it really isn't. It always smells…

Ideal for firing indoors.

I have compared this to several different Feuerhand lantern fuels. I used different wicks and fuels to test brightness, smell and smoke. This fuel smells like a normal burning candle and emits the least (no) smoke when the wick is properly adjusted. It's not as bright as other fuels, but it's perfectly possible to burn indoors. A wick with a red stripe works best, but any will work. The red striped wick is thicker than others I've purchased and has lasted longer between snips. If you're…

Works great in my Feuerhand 276 Baby Special!

These comments are for my Feuerhand 276 Baby Special cold air lantern with a Feuerhand wick (13mm or 1/2 wide). I have tried Firefly Safe and Green Lamp Oil in the past and it does NOT absorb quickly enough to sustain more than the minimal flame. If you turn the wick more than 2mm (1/8 inch), the flame rises a little higher for a moment, but then quickly burns out the wick (yes, I soaked the wick for a few hours before testing and the lantern heats up.) But then I looked on the Firefly Fuel…

This company sells great products!

If I could afford it I would buy all the large kerosene lamps from this company and replace mine with them and this citronella lamp oil. I have found that when using citronella essential oil in your home, flying pests like mosquitoes, flies, gnats, etc. do NOT like the smell and stay away from it. This fact alone is enough to buy citronella oil and use it around the house. Until I found out about this, I had mosquito problems every year. They get in through tiny holes or crevices on windows and

Expensive for the size but totally odour/smoke free and clean!

This is just what I need for the small agate candle I have, it's nice but unfortunately it has a tiny reservoir that burns for about 1 hour when the wick is very low and I fill it up all the time. because I like to leave candles burning in our house all evening, every evening and 1 hour is NOT enough. It's super clean and I didn't see any "black smoke" effect from it. It leaves no marks on my clear-based agate candle, and it doesn't smell or irritate the burn. I am VERY sensitive to smells and…
