The best false alarms for smoke and fire detectors

I bought two from Revain. which is a mistake because it's impossible and shouldn't skimp on security. There were also false positive results. one at 12 and the second time during the day and it didn't stop and the second alarm didn't drown out the other. Also the model number I got was SA520, not the one shown here.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Pretty mad! c Smoke detectors and fire alarms

These things seem to work in principle, but they are very difficult to connect. From a practical point of view, the instructions do not help with the connection process. Eventually I called First Alert and a very helpful customer service representative helped me find another and more productive way. After they were all installed, they would turn off at odd times. Then, after about 20 seconds, they stopped. Tried to fix the system but that didn't help either. Now they are all removed. When I…

1st broken security item

Advantages: Easy replacement of an old alarm. New plug included. Cons: No screws in the box. If you are installing a brand new detector in place of a replacement, you will need your own screws to attach the mounting plate to the junction box. It's fine unless you know you need them and the package doesn't mention they're missing. The first one I got was also broken. Everything is connected, the power indicator is green and solid, a triple beep sounds every minute. I put new batteries in as a…

Perfect solution for connecting two wired systems in my house

I recently added a new room to my house and although I was able to add a wired smoke alarm to the room, I was able to not connect it to the rest of my house. I first installed a second sensor hardwired to the new room in the common area of the house so at least those two were connected and the smoke in the new room would alert the whole house. I wanted to completely fix the problem and update the system and these smoke alarms were the perfect solution. I replaced the 'new system' detector in…

VERY SENSITIVE. about safety

ZERO STARS AND $150 later. If you want it somewhere near your kitchen, you'd better not cook on the stove or toast bread. Also one day it starts with booming loud beeps (there is both high beep and low beep) and voice and it doesn't stop. Once it starts, it will last much longer than it should. I burned toast and my neighbors came to see what was going on. Keep in mind that our homes are over 110 feet apart. I'm so frustrated I thought I'd be super safe buying this wired alarm plus three…

"Easy " installation - batteries dead on arrival.

Typical smoke alarm installation. Bought these to replace the original detectors here when we bought this place - they are probably over 20 years old and don't have a backup battery. The only problems were that the wiring from the original detectors was installed incorrectly, requiring a trip to the hardware store for a suitable electrical box (NOT a fan of wires just hanging around!). The only other issue was the age of the batteries that came with these detectors. Couldn't figure out why both

The perfect solution for my detached garage.

I recently built a detached garage next to my house. When running the ground wire for this new garage, I forgot to run an additional signal wire to connect the smoke/CO2 sensors in the house to the sensors in the new detached garage. If there was something going on in a detached garage, I wanted to hear it in the house too. After some research I found these wireless bridges from BRK/First Alert. My required distance was within the 50 feet listed for this model. Luckily my other gear was already

They can ruin your life

This is just terrible. They look pretty good and have a good mounting ring. This is an exhaustive list of positive qualities. My electrician had trouble pairing and had to spend extra time on it. Of course, this time is not free, so not very good. He really pulled it off and got them all working together and I really wish he hadn't. And here's why: These things are too loud. They are actually painful when anxious. Given that modern codes force you to place them throughout the home, this is…
