as others have posted

This alarm clock keeps waking us up in the middle of the night just like the others. We blow with compressed air, vacuum, Installed by a professional electrician. I looked at another. We will also replace them after the "recall" but if you are reading this just try a different brand. I tried calling to get a free replacement and they told me they had no guarantee. A $50 detector that needs to be replaced every 2 years? Also needs care and still keeps you awake? Go to another place.

False positive results after two months of use.

This device was purchased and installed on 20th July 2016 to replace an identical device that was giving false positives after 7 years of use. This one started giving false warnings right after two months of use. Went to Revain to see if I could get a replacement but it says the return window closed on 19th August 2016. So after two months of use I have a useless smoke alarm. I will look for another manufacturer whose product is compatible and more reliable. (and yes the manufacture date for…

I would give zero stars if I could

DO NOT BUY THESE ALARM CLOCKS. I bought eight of these. Four hundred dollars worthless junk. Constant false positives and the company doesn't even know their own products. Your tech support is directly contradicting the instructions for my smoke alarm. All I needed was my wife to turn off the switch, pull on everyone's ceiling, and pull out the battery because it kept interfering. Their tech support refuses to replace or refund the money. I have a clean house and have tried blowing them out…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Constant false alarms

I have been a professional electrical engineer for almost 40 years and have designed many fire alarm systems for high tech facilities. I replaced 7 smoke alarms in July 2020 as the previous units were over 10 years old and expired (good and reliable). I purchased a Revain SC7010BV combined carbon monoxide/smoke first alarm in July 2020. Last night, for the third time in 9 months, we got our third false positive in the middle of the night. False positive results occurred at three different…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Minor problems

False alarms teach children to ignore fire.

We bought six of these alarm clocks in December. Since then two of them have failed - in both cases due to steam or humidity, and in the latter case at 1:30am when my children were fast asleep. Imagine, if you will, a distraught mother and her children standing on the sidewalk in 32 degrees in our pajamas – no shoes, no coats because we teach little ones to GET OUT OF THE HOUSE and the Nuances come later - while the kids squeal in fear from sound asleep and just being dragged from their beds…

  • Free for educational purposes

Continuous false alarm

Two separate versions of this model gave false alarms at 2am when the windows were open during a heat wave and at 10am when closed during the same heat; and it couldn't be easily reset unless you turned off the power, removed the batteries, put them back in place, and ran the unit through a test procedure. Even after a restart it went off again. Both were installed by an electrician in a location where the Kidde alarm we replaced had not raised a false alarm in over a decade. Consumer Reports…

False Alarms!: Security

These alarms were installed in a brand new home. They were paired with a total of 11 BRK/First Alert photoelectric smoke detectors. They were very easy to install and ran silently for about 2 weeks. First, the alarms will randomly beep 3 times once or twice a day. Then they started disappearing for no reason. Now I don't know if you've ever slept in the house with 11 different smoke/carbon monoxide alarms going off, but I wouldn't recommend it! This is not fun! The alarm went off for about 15…

Pros
  • Great Design
Cons
  • I'm Quiet

Requires monthly cleaning Note that voice alerts are not global

In January of this year I bought nine of these devices, all of which are hardwired and interconnected. My wife is deaf in one ear so she can't tell where the sound is coming from. I figured voice alerts would quickly help her identify which room the alarm was going off in. It turns out that only the specific unit that is on combat readiness is reporting its location. All connected alarms only beep (no voice). It's still useful, but it means my wife has to walk around the house listening instead

Pros
  • One-year trial
Cons
  • There are nuances
