Works perfectly! Easy to use!

Perfect for programming my Compustar. No cable required, you unplug the antenna on the car connected to the remote start, plug it in and program. Then reconnect the antenna.

Essential Alarm Programmer

Installed my own Compustar Pro Alarm. But to program the alarm functions, I needed a programmer. The nearest dealer was 50 miles (one way) away and I didn't want to drive there to change a feature. Also, they shouldn't let you use their programmer. So I decided to buy my own. It took a few tries to figure out I had to write the settings back to the alarm after doing this. But other than that, it was pretty basic and easy to use once you had a programming guide in front of you.

There is no way for the end user to update the firmware; New OP500 units are shipped without cables

To program a CM7X controller with firmware 2017 or later, the OP500 must be running the latest firmware, otherwise it is useless for freelance installers or end users who are not at the dealer can register. Visit firstechdata website to download the latest OP500 firmware. ALSO check the listing to see if cables are included.
