Will not fit attachments and brushes

My Dyson 41 is about 5 years old and this part WILL NOT FIT! The product is completely different. See my side-by-side comparison. The piece on the left is my broken piece; the right part is the new part.

Fits old models DC41 Animal

Fits old models DC41 Animal. Put the bottom in first; Pass the end of the needle up through the slot on the edge of the cyclone, then grasp the end of the spring. There is a small protrusion (stopper) at the end of the needle, so to insert the part you need to turn it left, then turn it right to align the spring. The bodice is easy to knit.

Pros
  • Beautiful looks
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Works perfect. - Accessory

When our clip broke Dyson wanted us to buy a new canister for $100. This replacement part is definitely more economical and works great. We watched a short YouTube video and were able to swap out the new parts in less than 15 minutes. This is definitely an easy fix to do it yourself.

Works best on vacuum parts and accessories

This fixes the problem, but it's not an identical match. It releases the lever and allows dirt to fall out of the bin. But when you put the canister back in the vacuum cleaner it doesn't want to stay there, you have to lift it to lock it, at least that's what I experience with my purchase. But he fixed the broken lever I had in my vacuum and it's working again.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • Crumpled

Skeptical but it worked for me on an old Dyson Animal/DC 41. Found the Dyson on the curb with a pickup truck dump near me and wanted to see if I could fix it for use at a vacation home. All he needed was this part and a new cabin air filter. I almost feel guilty. A complete cylinder assembly was $80-$100 so I decided to try this first and it worked. Bearish setup as there are tiny springs that can pop out or get lost and from what I recall the floor needs to be installed with NBC first. There…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Almost goes with vacuums and floor care products

The replacement is great but is about 70% the thickness of the original Dyson and the plastic isn't as hard. When the button is pressed to release the bottom of the canister, this part flexes and slides along the actuating rod. Even after lubricating the remaining sliding parts, it was not possible to stay in line and open the lid in at least half the cases. I'm not sure why they made it so thin, there can't even be a dime difference to make it as thick as the original. Must try another brand…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Lasts a long time

A little iffy for the tips and brushes

Works - barely. There were absolutely no instructions, although it's not difficult to find out, I'm just reporting. After watching a few videos I figured out how to disassemble the canister, put this pup in it without breaking anything, put it all back together and put it back in the vacuum frame - wouldn't snap. After several attempts I managed to keep the thing in place, but every time we use the vacuum I wonder if the canister will fall out. I haven't cleared it since I installed it, a…

After installation everything works fine except for

The design is slightly different which was fine with me. Apparently it should work fine. Unfortunately, when depressed, the lever doesn't go far enough to push the bottom of the canister out every time. Sometimes it freezes and won't open, and a little second-hand help is required. I also cleaned and oiled the loop at the bottom of the canister and it was still sticky. That was half the problem. The second half was when I left to put the canister back in the vacuum. The hinge did not adhere to…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive

Fits DC 65 with nozzles

I was so happy to find out that this part fits the DC65. I broke the bottom latch on my Dyson and the canister didn't stay on the car. I was very frustrated and wondering how to use Dyson when I found this piece on Revain. First of all many thanks to Revain for providing Dyson parts that you can't even buy on their (Dyson) website. That being said, the DC 65 was definitely NOT an easy setup. The way they made this particular model requires you to take the entire canister apart to swap out the…
