Works well on glass tops

I didn't realize I needed them until a few months ago I forgot to remove the porcelain coated still from our glass top. There was very little liquid left in the pot and it got so hot that the bottom of the pot deformed so much that the glass underneath shattered. This completely damaged the stove and pot. I have used these (2) heat spreaders under a stainless steel pot and another porcelain coated pan on our new glass cooker with no problem.

Pros
  • Trial for one year
Cons
  • Is there anything I can add

Excellent heat sinks, durable and inexpensive

This is steel not copper as stated. Lucky for me, that's what I wanted. The metal is strong and the shape effectively conducts heat through it. I mainly use it for glass teapots on electric coils and it works great no problem. I also sometimes use it for pots where I don't want to touch the coils directly. They're a bit small if you're using them with a really big pot, but they should balance a big pot well too, as long as you adjust them properly.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Medium

Piece of Wire on Cookware

Callback Request This is a piece of wire in the shape of a shamrock used in an electric range. The product is exactly as described and pictured. Supplied in a large dimpled envelope. This item had been on my wish list for a while, I was waiting to order it along with other items I had ordered with larger items so it came alone. I was watching an old Julia Child cooking show on TV and she was cooking on an electric stove in a glass pot. She pulled out the ring and put it on the stove. I forgot…

  • Free for educational purposes

  • Not sure

Excellent material for heat regulation on electric torches

This crazy little spool of wire works fantastic on electric torches. It's especially great when I dye the yarn and cook it in a thin (cheap) stainless steel pot where I want the temperature to be as close to boiling as possible but with no bubbles to feel the fiber. In other words, this is a real test. This gives you temperature control. Two come in a box. It doesn't look like copper to me (a matte silver colored metal) so I don't know what it is, but it works great. There is a stronger zigzag…

Pros
  • Easy to set up
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
