🐠 Silicone Black Flexible Airline Tubing for Aquariums, Terrariums, and Hydroponics - Deep Jungle 3/16" I.D. 1/4" O.D. Review

I bought this product because the description said it was a silicone hose, it definitely isn't. First, it smells like chemicals. The texture and flexibility are not at all what you would expect from silicone. Eventually, if this tubing is barely heated, it will melt - silicone is a heat resistant material and will not melt or change shape the way it does. Finally returned.

Nice and black to prevent light from entering your hydroponic system. Now the bad side, bad packaging. Some places are creased and you can't get rid of the crease unless you cut it. not cool when you need 8 pieces that are 6ft 3in long (50ft total). Now I have three sections with creases in them. Now I have to buy more to replace the kinks but I don't want to buy more kinks. You'll need to wrap the tubing around something to avoid nasty kinks!

Works overall - good price, very black/should prevent algae, soft, feels like high quality silicone. The main issue is that you have to be careful with kinks - the tubing isn't very thick so a small 90 degree angle cuts the air completely so only very small kinks can be created (or use a lot more material). Also quite smelly at first, you have to wash it down with a decent amount of water. Not stinky like the room stinks, but smells strongly about 6 inches away. Overall I would buy it again but

Also, it looks great on the black background of my tank. It instantly merges and disappears. The downside is that this pipe is quite fluffy and will blow out of a standard CO2 system and standard glass diffuser at 40-50psi working pressure. I used small zip ties to solve this problem by attaching them just below the cone lip. Just to be clear, it wasn't just the diffuser that blew the whistle. Every connection including a non-return valve (on both sides) was available. I still give 4 stars…
