I use this product to clean underground plumbing and for that purpose it worked great when I had to turn it with a screw. The part of the handle that turns the auger needs more flexibility to work properly

It took 30 feet of a 50 foot drill cable to free a kitchen sink drain pipe, but it worked! In terms of ease of use, it handled my elbows like a racer; and he went straight through lockdown like clockwork. Also, there were no creases or tangles when I took it off. And the carry bag makes it easy to store. I recommend this item.

I pushed the snake down the drain but my clog is at least 45 feet from the pipe. The snake twisted in the tube and leaned forward. I didn't know until I pulled it out again. The drain is still on. I'll try a larger diameter and stiffer snake. This one felt good but was still bent and kinked. It seemed like a good guard snake, not that far down the pipe.

With patient use as directed, this product does the job. Bought it because it was available. Until it is forcibly stuffed into the drain, it must not deform. I was able to get 46 feet of it in the sink and it cleaned it up with no problem. Would recommend to anyone who understands how to use it properly and doesn't want to spend an insane amount on a 50ft snake.

Typically, "cable" is used to mean the center strand of an aircraft cable, surrounded by a coiled wire element and used to increase rigidity. This product lacks a central core, resulting in a 'thin' feather-like spring that is barely able to reach 10 feet before losing the stiffness needed to reach anything beyond that distance. Luckily, Revain makes returning an item as easy as taking it to your nearest Kohls store!

I poured it down a clogged drain line that had a couple of 90 degree bends when it stopped. I thought, aha, I'm in lockdown! But no, he bent over and didn't fall back into the drain line. I guess he got to one of the elbows, then leaned forward and didn't go any further. I'm surprised it turned out to be so flimsy - my old 25ft has grown to a full 25ft. (But not to the point of blocking, so I bought this 50ft machine.)

As others have said, for the half inch I expected it to be a little firmer and when I say a little I mean a lot. I've tried this type on my dryer vent, nothing particularly difficult, no hard obstacles, and yet it would get caught on a lint pile or bend and kept flexing back because it was too flexible. Roll over and over again, not just once, until the bundles of wires are wide enough to block the vent. Maybe that's fine for a narrow tube, but the hype about 3" fans is a lie.
