Unreliable and uncomfortable Headset

My analysis of this aviation electronics product showed that it is not worth the investment. The sound quality does not justify the hefty price tag and the headset is quite uncomfortable to wear for prolonged periods of time. The design also feels outdated and not up to par with modern aviation technology. The only pro I could find was that the microphone worked adequately. Ultimately, I would not recommend this product to anyone looking for a reliable headset for their aviation needs.

Pros
  • Adequate microphone
Cons
  • Uncomfortable, outdated, unreliable sound quality.

Ear pads upgrade

I've had these for about 10 years The included ear pads start to hurt after a while so I replaced them with David Clarke gel ear pads and now they are much quieter and more convenient. They still fit very snugly so I wouldn't recommend them for more than 4-5 hours unless you have a small head (I wear a 7 1/2 beanie). This is a great headset for the money. I wish I could comment on their customer service but luckily I don't need them!

Pros
  • car electronics
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was

Normal for a basic headset

The sound quality is so-so, they are very tight, it hurts to wear it for more than an hour. I bought a Faro G2, a Premium Pilot Aviation headset with MP3 input as the main headset and a Flightcom headset for passengers. I wore the Flightcom set for a couple of weeks and when I moved into my faro it was day and night. Faro are convenient out of the box, have much better sound and good noise isolation. They're more expensive, but at $90, they're worth it.

Pros
  • Headsets and intercoms
Cons
  • The packaging is ugly
