Excellent socket tester

This socket tester and GFCI works great! The lights are bright and easy to see. I use it almost every day for property inspections.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Almost never

Easy to read and well put together

I have used many socket testers in my 17 year career. This one was the best. It's expensive compared to the others, but it's well built and has outlasted all the others.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • I don't mind, everything is fine

Didn't fare well among circuit testers

bought one to test outlets for home inspection. While it looks nice, there are five houses, but the open ground began to misread on each ship. I've had a lot of these testers and this was the fastest I've seen.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Zero

Very weak for circuit testers

Do not buy this outlet tester. It's very thin. Clearly not intended for tamper evident containers. I am an electrician and tester and can test over 100 sockets every day. This tester failed within a week. The ground pin fell out. In addition, it is very small, which makes it difficult to handle.

Pros
  • High marks for tester support and durability
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

This tester is a real time saver.

We had a GFI circuit in our kitchen that was messing up and we couldn't figure out what the problem was. It was a mystery. This small tester plugs in and has a button for testing GFI connectors. This will disable them if they are working properly. After making sure the circuit was fine, we found that it shut down due to some kind of glitch. It turned out to be an automatic faucet. Turned off and no more problems. The designers of this FLIR test device were kind enough to print a "chart" on both

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Negligible maintainability

So easy to interpret

I'm not a techie so the device needs to be fairly simple for me to use it easily. This FLIR RT50 outlet tester was just what I needed to test the outlets in the rental home we bought and I needed to make sure it matched the wiring code. This tester simply plugs into a three-prong outlet and then follows simple instructions, beginning with pressing the GFO test button. When the tester is used, it lights up. The way you interpret these lights is to compare the lit lights in front of you to either

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Socket required
