Flowmaster = Made in China

Very disappointed to hear the Flowmaster is now made in China! With equal success, you could buy a fake and save $100.00. I paid a high price for a product made in a country notorious for poor workmanship.

Pros
  • Improved motor power, torque and efficiency
Cons
  • Very expensive

Fair - Replacement Parts

Does not fit Nissan Frontier. I had to buy adapters. This is roughly between the lack of a muffler and the loudness of a regular muffler. No hum, nice bassy rumble on start and low revs and it gets loud around 3k. But overall better than stock, less noisy than without a silencer.

Pros
  • Minimal internal resonance
Cons
  • Poor

Great silencers - great sound!

This muffler was first installed on my 1968 El Camino in June 2005. The color was brushed aluminum at the factory. After 15 years of driving, the moisture in the exhaust has taken its toll and the mufflers have rusted. These are exact replacement parts and they sound great! Since this stock is now black from the factory, I painted mine with VHT High Temp Flat Aluminum Spray Paint to better match the look of the OEM mufflers on the truck.

Pros
  • Soft to stock exhaust tone
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Doesn't fit Nissan Frontier directly, but performs very well

While the length and offset match the Nissan Frontier, the standard muffler has an outside diameter of 2 3/8 inches. A 2 1/2" OD adapter will work, but I used fiberglass tape to make up the difference. Seems to work with no leaks. Sound is pleasant. Smooth as stock at idle or at low throttle openings. There is a slight growl when opening to be heard. Softer than a Borla S type muffler, but louder than a touring muffler. I find this to be a good compromise in terms of volume. At motorway speed…

Pros
  • Excellent choice for large displacement vehicles
Cons
  • Some cons
