Happy happy happy: Spare parts

My installation on a 21 year old f150 worked fine. You need a file, a file for metal. Additional details: 2.5" exhaust clamps. 18" x 2.5" OD, single end exhaust pipe shortened to 2.5" ID and exhaust hanger. I just like the quiet hum when accelerating. At idle, it's hard to tell the difference. Very happy with the result and saved over 200 with DIY.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • No performance

Great sound on a 1998 Ford Mustang GT

Exactly what I was looking for. Pleasant hum and classic sound at no extra cost. I don't want a nasty system like the SLP Loudmouth or the Flowmaster Super 10. I liked the MagnaFlow system, but they're built the same way and are a lot cheaper. They should be installed by a qualified DIY enthusiast or workshop.

Pros
  • stock
Cons
  • sad packaging

Heavy sheet steel, should be removed

Real thick steel, easy to weld Fit if necessary, probably twice the thickness of the stock muffler. It's about 10-14 inches shorter than stock, comes patched with an exhaust pipe extender from Oreilly's Autozone etc for about $10. The stem on the 2004 F-150 is welded on, so if you pinch you will also need 2 2 1/2" exhaust pipe adapters. This will allow you to slide in the muffler and outside of the exhaust pipe and clamp all the connections with the muffler clamps. I would add some hanger bars…

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Annoying
