No capacitor tester.

This is a decent meter but I didn't realize it couldn't test capacitors until I bought it. For this purpose alone I will have to get a cheap measuring device. I guess that's what I get because I'm a cheap skateboard on this deal.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Expensive

Capacitors are not allowed.

No way to check capacity, which I didn't realize until I opened it up and read the instructions. It's almost useless for preparing electronics like high voltage amplifiers for repair or refurbishment and that's the only reason I bought it.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

LowZ, double impedance should be on all multimeters.

Back in January 2021 I bought a Fluke 88V industrial multimeter with tons of features but only 3 weeks ago. I found a Fluke 110 Plus Essential Multimeter with LowZ capability. If you don't have a Fluke 114, 116, 117, or 289 but have already spent money on a Fluke 88V multimeter and need the Dual Impedance LowZ feature to check those pesky ghost voltages. Then this is a great counter to upgrade your 88-V, 177, 115, regular 110, 107, 101 without breaking the bank. Would recommend this item.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly

Ignore the bad reviews, this is a great basic DMM.

As stated in the title, ignore the (3) bad reviews (as of 12/18) for this multimeter. They were abandoned by 3 people doing basic research or reading their instruction manuals: 2 people complained that it didn't measure capacitance. Oh well. The cap icon is missing from the DMM's selection wheel, as can be clearly seen in the product image. You can also find this via a Google search. 1 person complained that it didn't work and had no fuse. I think their troubleshooting was trying to turn it on…

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • I'll add later
