Good for my box turtle, doesn't get dirty

Too much substrate leaves a lot of residue in the water bowl. These are good sized pieces of bark, up to half an inch. I haven't experienced any problems with bugs as I've seen reports with other brands. I also put some peat moss on top after soaking in water to keep moisture needed at different times of the year. I also recently changed the landscape to use large flat rocks around the water/swimming bowl to keep the substrate a little further from the water and less likely to make a mess.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • A few small things

Used for wood but Fluker's is a great brand.

I actually needed mulch for a tree I just bought and didn't need a huge bag. Straw was just expensive as I have had reptiles in the past (and have worked with and currently live with them) and I know Fluker's is a great brand it was perfect. It had to arrive in time for landing and it was just the amount I needed for a small ash tree just over 5ft. Works perfectly! But if you are looking for it as a reptile litter I recommend it. I have used it in the past and Fluker's make good reliable…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Packed with ticks!

I bought this spruce bark to add to the potting soil for my very expensive Hoya plants. I really liked it initially, the pieces were a good size for what I needed it for and it was very affordable. A week after I mixed this into the potting soil and transplanted the Hoya plants, I noticed thousands of mites everywhere! They were in the ground and crawling all over my plants. I can't tell you how upset I was, anyone who is a serious Hoya collector will understand knowing how much some of these…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competition is here
