Still leaks best in filter accessories

I've changed the o-ring 3 times on my 6 series and without tons of silicone grease it STILL leaks. I had to go to Fluval to have it replaced under the 3 year warranty and if possible upgrade it to the 7 series if there is an improvement. Not sure if it's the o-ring, but replacing it certainly didn't help me much! Many other posts on this online and on YouTube.

Fluval Leaking Canister Filter

My Fluval 105 started leaking and I've read that it was the o-ring breaking over time. I checked, everything is fine, there were small cracks on the O-ring. Put a new one in and problem solved. It is also recommended to purchase a food grade silicone lubricant for the o-ring. So every time you open the filter, put some lubricant on the o-ring to preserve it and prolong its life.

  • cool product

Mandatory for non-pressurized Fluval filters! Highly recommended :)

Great! Immediately stopped the flow of Fluval. I thought it was settled since the unit started leaking. Remember that the filter should always be in a bucket or, like me, in a modified sink. Never use anything that circulates water without something that contains water if it starts leaking, I learned that the hard way. Funny how this simple rubber ring protects against leakage. There is some oil around it to seal the device tightly.

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived

I am very happy that I have the pad

This pad was a bit expensive but I needed it immediately and thanks to Revain I got it in a day. I did scheduled maintenance on my filter yesterday and when I put it back together it was leaking so badly I couldn't use it anymore. It's just a piece of rubber, but once it's gone it goes away quickly and you have no choice but to replace it. It's not something you can buy in a store, so I'm stuck. But when I got it this morning, I tapped it in and the water in my tank was already starting to…

Order one before you need it.

If you have a Fluval canister filter, you should order one of these; So you have everything ready for the day you need it. The one that came with my filter lasted about 10 months before it started leaking. The replacement was easy and the leak stopped. I've since ordered a second one and have it ready just in case. I just wipe mine with a damp paper towel to avoid buildup. The one that came with my filter lasted about 10 months before it started leaking. It's always nice to see how much garbage

  • Best in its niche

Dissatisfied with Fluval canister filters

Many people have warned me against buying Fluval. I did not listen! I've never had so many problems with an external filter in my life! I replaced and lubricated all four o-rings, checked from the outside, everything is fine, without disconnecting anything, brought it inside and installed it in my tank. and it sprays like a sprinkler! I'm a fanatic about my gear. I just used a lifetime supply of silicone grease on this one 205 filter! As long as I live I will never buy a Fluval again. If 406…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Bad experience

I started with Stone Age aquariums (aquariums with metal frames and filters under gravel). When I moved into my first Fluval 301 I was impressed, but it had a few flaws. Maintenance was problematic, the impellers stuck together, the impeller cover broke easily, the impeller shaft was difficult to clean and replace, and they often cavitated easily. They had to buy extra shut-off valves on the line or use buckets. Priming the pump often required priming through the mouth (dirt). Removing the air…

  • Good product for the price
