Fluval Hagen Sea Calcium Aquarium Supplement Review

Used to prevent my snail shells from chipping in the aquarium. I used less than what was said when it came to the fresh water tank. Didn't bother my fish but you have to be careful because it makes your water very hard.

If you are keeping aquatic snails I recommend this product to ensure they have enough calcium to grow. My Nerites would never eat the spinach or zucchini I would offer them, so I bought this and added a full capsule once a week.

My pool got very cloudy and didn't clear up at all between water changes. I checked if it was this product as it's the only new thing I added. Super disappointed. Wanted to give my mysterious snails something for their shell. will have to look for other options.

I use it once a week as a supplement in my freshwater aquarium as a calcium supplement for my mysterious snails. I started feeding them algae tablets and calcium a few months ago. Since then I have had no problems with fragile projectiles and there have been no casualties. They actually increased their activity and started breeding more frequently. Love it! It's a lot easier and less messy than trying to add squid bones or coral. Coral raises the pH, which I didn't want. I prefer to keep the pH around 7.4-7.6 without using buffering agents. At first I was really worried about how much to add. I am adding this to 5 gallon Fluval Spec V. I took the directions on the bottle (for the larger tank) and divided those numbers to get 1.25ml as the 5 gallon starting dose. it increased my gH from about 4-5 to 10-11.
