Looks good but cheaply made.

Overall the dash kit was fine at best. It's cheap in my opinion and had to redo a few things to get the switches and controls to match. Also in the dashboard did not fit very well. If I wasn't mechanically inclined I probably wouldn't have gotten it to work and would have sent it back.

Pros
  • For 1997-2003 Ford Escorts
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Not suitable 98 escort!

After the platter kit could not be installed, the left bracket broke off. I sent it back and tried it on a CD player. When preparing for the installation, I noticed that I would have to shorten the dashboard, after which the factory one no longer fits. I cut the dash just long enough to fit the white plastic side panels. The hole is now too wide to snap into place. Save $40 and use a piece of wood.

Pros
  • Includes custom ISO bezel and mounting brackets, rear support bracket and all necessary wiring harnesses.
Cons
  • Replacement

Don't worry about Car Video

Don't waste your time, and I mean a lot of time, replacing your OEM metal parts with this plastic junk. I've installed a radio many times in the past with no problems, but this deal with the built in air conditioning was a nightmare. The worst is the temperature. The cable must be in the correct position and will not run far enough to install the cable before the bezel snaps into place. The instructions are really bomb.

Pros
  • Best material for good fit and durability

Works with a small modification.

Requires slight modification to work. Not so bad if you know what you're doing. So the problem is to replace the air conditioning control from the original radio to the dashboard. The switches need to be flipped and bolted to the new dash just like the original radio but there are wires and glue along the way. At first I couldn't even see the screw holes, but they are there. You'll need to reroute the wires and remove the glue holding the wires to get to the holes. Then everything works.

Pros
  • Country of Origin USA
Cons
  • Reliability
