Fixed code P26B7 on 2013 Escape 1.6

Received code P26B7 on my 2013 Ford Escape 1.6 EcoBoost. Instead of paying the store for it, I bought it and made it myself. The biggest PITA is all the cables and hoses getting in the way, I unplugged everything I could to get access. Took about an hour, cleared the code with a scanner and all is well.

Pros
  • Engineered to your vehicle specs
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Worked great. Fixed code P26B7 on 2013 Ford Escape SE

Motorcraft part and fit 2013 Ford Escape SE even though Revain's little compatibility info at the top of the page says this is not the case. My car's check engine light came on and I took it to Oreilly who gave me the code P26B7. After doing some research online it sounded like a common problem with this valve assembly. The dealer asked for $300 to fix it. I bought this part for $40 and fixed it myself in about an hour after watching a few youtube videos. The hardest part for me was removing…

Pros
  • Geniune OEM part
Cons
  • Communicate with seller

An easier way to install a broken part than the entire unit.

This part fits our 2013 Ford Escape SEL. I would recommend just unscrewing the 4 star screws on top of the old one and replacing the top. It's easiest to keep the new plastic fastener connected to the metal plunger and then push the top back into place. Do not use a new o-ring as the old one is probably fine. I didn't see the old one snap into place and installed the part with the new o-ring and the antifreeze ran out of the plate. If you're ready to replace the entire block, good luck. The two
