Much better than the Metra alternative

I used this to install a double din on a 2002 Ford F350. It worked great and looks like a factory radio. I tried using the Metra 95-5817 dash kit that Crutchfield sent with the radio, but it fit horribly. Save yourself the hassle of installing a double dyne instead of a true double dyne in older cars with 1 1/2 radio slots. Buy this dashboard kit from American International. It fits like a glove and looks sharp. All you have to do in this kit is cut off the middle part of the divider.

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Something wrong

Arrived quickly and safely. While it didn't bother me, there was no center bar in the block I received. I used it to fit my Pioneer avh-x5800 into my 2003 f250. After I trimmed the dash, everything fitted together normally. The only complaint I have is that to remove the unit you have to gently pry off the faceplate and press the plastic tabs to push the radio deeper into the dash, then remove the dash and then remove the radio. However, this is more about the design of the car than anythingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Exchange possibility

In general, a universal set!

I guessed it - this kit works well as a 'universal' flat panel kit! which came with a dumb 1.5DIN head unit but had enough room to widen the hole up/down to fit a double DIN (in my case a single DIN head unit (Sony DSXA400BT Digital Media receiver) and a single DIN radio CB (Cobra 18WXSTII Mobile CB Radio) I think it looks better with this kit than the factory one (although I had to loosen it up a bit for the CB as it *not quite* conforms to the individual DIN specification. But that's not theโ€ฆ

Does not work with Pioneer AVH-X2700BS double din system.

This might be a good kit for some double din machines but the ISO trim ring doesn't fit my Pioneer AVH-X2700BS. The shape was wrong and it didn't fit at all. Also, the rear support bracket was too short to be used with a bolt on this Pioneer. The app is a 1999 Super Duty F250 and it seemed like the kit could work with another two din radio but not this one. This required a change in install schedule and a return to Revain. I knew this kit would require a dash modification but it's useless if it

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • a little wrinkled

Installed a Pioneer 6.2 touchscreen on my ranger. The kit is ok but the faceplate is not compatible with the Pioneer face. I had to cut off the top and bottom and then sanded the ends to fit snugly on the new radio's bezel. Basically I made two spacers out of the front panel. I then used the top and bottom as wedges for one of the wobbly struts. When I called the company the tech treated me like an idiot and insisted it fit because he had a lot of stereos installed. I can tell you this will not

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Big and chunky

2002 Ford Ranger BUY IT AND SAVE SOME TIME

I usually only write reviews when a product has 5 stars or 1 star, so keep going. Unfortunately, this was the third kit I tried on my 2002 Ford Ranger XLT. Keep in mind that no matter what kit you buy, you'll need to drill the top and bottom holes in your truck's (all Ranger's) dashboard, so that goes without saying. The first product I tried was Metra. They have good reviews but if you go with this kit your radio will sit almost an inch in the dash once installed. This makes it easier toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Installing a 2004 F-250

Used to install a Pioneer FH X700BT in my daughter's 2004 F-250. The 250 F-250 does NOT have a double DIN hole (one and a half DIN) so you will need to change the dash. I found the mounting instructions a bit confusing. They boil down to this: 1-Screw the sides of the bracket to the sides of the stereo with the grooves facing out. Don't tighten them yet. 2-Fix the front panel to decide how you want to place your stereo on the dashboard, recessed or protruding. 3-Move the brackets back and forth

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Sad packaging

Used in Ford E450 RV and made all new stereo look factory

I replaced the cheap dashboard entertainment system that came with a Gulfstream bus in my RV. I didn't like that and opted for the Pioneer 4500BT DVD. Now I can play DVDs on a flat screen. The USB stick contains 15,000 songs. The blue tooth is all the system does. In any case, I was very concerned about the finished look of the Ford Econoline cockpit dashboard when I put it to use. Which in my RV is the wood grain look they use in the Ford RV which is basically a wood grain that comes on theโ€ฆ
