Look green on welders

DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GOLDEN FILTER LENS! I actually wanted to return it and was too busy to bother a few bucks. This is not real gold lens. It is green. Absolutely useless to me as green gives me migraines within an hour of welding.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others

No. 9 Shield is excellent for low to medium amperage welding

No. 9 Shield is excellent for low to medium amperage (50-140A) welding. Unlike traditional lenses where the arc and puddle are green, this gold lens creates an arc and puddle ranging from yellow to orange, which is more relaxed for the eyes and allows for longer sweat times. I have used this lens in several welding processes such as SMAW (electrode welding), GMAW, TIG and FCAW. I would not recommend using this lens when welding at high current (170 amps and up), get a darker lens.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Socket required

PERFECT bow color! best in welding and soldering

Excellent arc/general coloring (gold/yellow) under the hood and all the detail is well lit too. I use it for DC TIG welding and the lighter lens (shade #9) works very well from 50 amps and below which is ideal for welding sheet metal/small machined parts. Sometimes I use over 50 amps, up to 125, which is light but still welds well. The durability is the same as any other regular glass lens - I extend the life of my lenses by putting a layer or two of tape around the edges which prevents edge…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
