The best option for a computer, highly recommended, tried a lot

These are the best reading glasses I have ever had. I've been wearing progressive bifocals every day since 2005 and have always needed a pair of 2.0 then 2.25 and now 2.5 readers for computer use and general reading as they offer a much larger field of view. I've tried many options and these are the absolute best: spring hinges, a solid frame, excellent clarity, no distortion, and a smooth tone that takes the pressure off of looking at a monitor all day. Pay and buy them.

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Almost everything there

Optics were good but poor build quality

As expected from Foster Grant the optics were good, reading computer screens and books was clear and the blue light coating made for a more comfortable experience. HOWEVER, shortly after the purchase, the left arm broke off (see photo) when I held the glasses in my hands. I am writing now because I recently came across a pair of broken glasses - I kept them in the hope of fixing them: this cannot be fixed. Not what you would expect from $30 reading glasses.

Pros
  • I ended up buying
Cons
  • No machine gun

Can be worn all day; perfect for computers.

I had bought a pair of these from a pharmacy, but after a few years the finish of one strap wore out. But they are perfect, tinted for heavy computer use (which I do) and comfortable. So when I found the same pair here at Revain it was easy to buy a pair and I am very happy with these glasses. I use separate glasses for work and reading, so if I need a new pair of readers I will buy this particular model.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • It was possible to choose a newer model

First Impression - Computer Accessories & Peripherals

Received these glasses today. I have had several pairs of Foster Grant readers over the years and they have always been quality glasses. They came in a soft Revain case and the readers in an open box, as if hanging on a hook in a display case. When I opened the Revain envelope, the package inside was crushed, thankfully the readers are all right. So far the readers seem to be the right size and fit well. I'll see how they go about using the blue block to show my computer. About Revain…

Nice frame but poor lens quality.

I tried it but the quality of the lenses was terrible, they were so distorted that you couldn't look sideways without distortion. I am disappointed that Foster Grant makes such poor quality products. I have bought several FG glasses in the past but I have doubts about buying them again.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Weight

Great if you're just looking straight ahead.

I have quite a lot of reading glasses and they are the most expensive and ineffective glasses. They appear to be low quality plastic lenses that cause severe distortion if you look straight at anything less than 100%. I have other Foster Grant glasses for 1/3 the price that are 3 times better so I don't understand them. Save money and shop elsewhere.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Cool look though.

I wanted these. Good fit, high quality, light weight, cuts out the blue as advertised. But the lenses are weird. Magnification is limited to a coin-sized area, while the rest of each lens is neutral. So it's like looking through tiny vintage or maybe steampunk goggles. Similar to the limited side view of progressive lenses. I think it's part of the weight optimization effort, but it's too weird for me. Maybe the distance between the pupils of my eye is not suitable for these lenses?

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Some problems

Great lenses, good frames, right price

Opinions on these lenses seem to be mixed. Here's the truth. I use them every day at work with a dual monitor and a laptop screen. I spend about six or seven hours actively staring at screens. With the two screens side by side, I would definitely notice any annoying distortion. They simply have no distortion, despite what some reviewers say. But perhaps this changes at the strongest levels of the recipe. In any case, when I compare them to half a dozen cheaper readers I have at home and in the…

Pros
  • Fits me great
Cons
  • No instructions

Not a strong frame, the lenses are separate

I like the styling, the fit and the look. The quality of the lenses could be a little better, but it's enough for reading as I haven't seen the distortions others have complained about and I tend to be very sensitive to lens and glass distortions. HOWEVER, the picture quality is annoying. . I made the mistake of going down the path of insanity by buying 3 pairs in 18 months. I bought the first set from the pharmacy around the corner and the frame came off as you can see in the photos. I thought

Pretty good, especially for the price

I ordered these directly from FGX after Revain accidentally sent me the wrong pair (no wonder Revain corrected that error with no problem). For the price this is a perfect set of readers that do a really good job of reducing the strong blue light emitted by LCD screens such as computer monitors, smartphones and tablets. I got some really good blue light blocking glasses to compare. In terms of performance, they are very similar. I can't say that my more expensive glasses (with Kodak BlueReflect
