Description of FRAM TGA4309S: Rugged, High-Performance Tough Guard Air Filter

Pre-oiled media captures smaller dirt and dust particles when driving in dirty, dusty conditions compared to traditional paper filters that are dry and only capture larger particles. Greater Durability – Filter screen extends into urethane to provide greater integrity and reduced likelihood of collapse and tearing in tough driving conditions. Better Overall Engine Performance – Pleat lock glue bead feature allows for pleats to “lock” into place for consistent airflow and less restriction. 12,000 mile change intervals help prevent decreased acceleration and horsepower while helping improve overall performance. Traps and holds double the dirt of entry level air filters.

Despite installation instructions not for 14 year old Nissan Altima.

Don't be fooled, this doesn't match the 2014 Nissan Altima SV. The length is a bit too big and the flex design doesn't hold it in place, it folds in the middle. The present design is a hard plastic with additional plastic molding for a proper fit. This fram doesn't have what makes the filter only partially effective if you get it to work at all.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Disappearance

The air filter on the G35 sedan fits perfectly!

Needed for my Infinity G35 sedan. I usually change them a few times a year, but they don't get that dirty in my area. Sometimes you'll find a leaf or something there, but mostly it's nice and clean. Easily replaceable and saves money by improving gas efficiency. For the internal filter, you need to replace the one behind the glove box in the car.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Good but not great

Good for the price

So fits the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder. It's a bit of a chore to plant it properly in the airbox (the engine bay is a weird and tricky setup, to be honest). The rubber on the edges is a bit thick and the airbox closes - just not quite because I see an orange color between the airbox slots. For the price I can't fault it (the dealer wanted 40 for the filter alone) and it was delivered on time.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Safety

Not like before.

Oh my god. this is FRAM. which used to be a popular brand to buy a filter. This thing was so thin that it was extremely difficult to put on the car, which is saying a lot since these filters can usually be changed with your eyes closed. I was so disappointed. usually these things are a little bit stronger. No, the thing bent and rocked so much that it annoyed me. I honestly considered buying another brand. He didn't even approach him properly

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • A little variety

This is a filter. Excellent price

Bought for my 15th Nissan Pathfinder. I'm not sure why people have trouble installing this filter. Yes, the rubber edges are a bit thick, but with a little effort it closes well. As far as the filter itself is concerned, I'm phasing out FRAM filters for cost reasons. The only reason I bought it was the price. I couldn't turn down the deal. I realized that all filters do the same thing. Just change them every 10-15 thousand kilometers and everything will be fine with the car.

Oiled paper, good idea, strong protection

Oiled paper is the first I see in production. I think this will make my engine cleaner inside than others I've used in the past. (Update >>> A year and a half later I see this filter trapping more fine debris than the Fram Extra Guard filters I have used in the past. Engine performance advantage over the vehicle life at a small cost difference compared to the Extra Guard model. )

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Negative gift

Everything works on my 2006 Subaru Impreza.

Works on my 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI. Works great in my Subaru for about half the price of an original Subaru filter. It simply filters the air and keeps dirt and debris out of the engine. If you were to swap out your filter for this more often, I daresay it would be better for your car than using the original filter for the recommended number of miles and you could save some fuel by doing the right amount. Clean air entering the engine.

Pros
  • Enjoy
Cons
  • No power

Does not match the photo in Revain or on the packaging. but seems fine

The item I received was missing the metal mesh on the top of the paper filter shown on the Amazon packaging and photos. However the original Nissan filter was also missing the screen ;) I called Fram and asked if it was a problem and they said it was fine and to their specs so I installed it. With the exception of the orange border and white filter paper, the part looked identical to the OEM (e.g. number of pleats and overall dimensions). It seemed to go well with my 2017 high, although the…
