🏀 Franklin Sports Oversized Foam Balls 4: Ultimate Playtime Fun! Review

Bought this set for my 3 year old to learn to throw through his hands. Unfortunately, while the outer faux leather of the balls is less toxic for kids (no vinyl), they are much thicker and heavier than I expected. I don't want this ball to hit my child's face (or my face) or accidentally hit our free-roaming pet rabbits. I assume that every small dog or cat can be affected. When the child is older, we put them in the outdoor playroom.

As others have said this is a very soft soft vinyl ball. One thing that surprised us was that the weight of the ball was a bit lighter than expected. So when we were playing ball we could throw them farther (than other vinyl balls) and they would throw in a straight line instead of at a weird angle. So we are very satisfied. In terms of weight, I can't imagine anyone really caring about a three year old who leaves them and hurts anyone or anything. That seems really unbelievable. We use them…

My grandson is interested in baseball. He is 4 years old and will be playing ball for the little ones next summer. I ordered these soft balls to work with when I have him at home. They're soft enough that I can throw them and not worry if he hits. He has small hands, but he's good at holding and throwing the ball. The recommended age is 3+ but my 2 year old grandson can hold and throw them just as well as a 4 year old. I don't think either of them can throw them hard enough to hurt each other…

These are styrofoam balls designed to be thrown with no chance of hurting anyone, breaking any window or pride. I received a four pack of different colors as shown in the picture. They're slightly larger than a regular baseball and fairly soft. I have no conclusions as to why they are considered too hard because they are as soft as anything I know. My only complaint is that I wish the price was under $10 (about $2.50 per ball sounds right). The product itself isn't anything special, but it works great. Lightweight, vinyl-coated foam. They're great for a million uses. They say from 3 years but I think they fit even younger if your kid is ready to really fall. etc).
