The smell is awful, if you have lung problems of any kind do not use it, it is very dangerous to breathe in this smell. Also, the smell of Febreze makes my cats cough and they smell like Febreze all the time.

Switched to non-clumping litter because my senior cat was constantly chasing sticky litter around the house. Clumped fillers stuck and dried between his toes. This species doesn't and it was such a relief. Easier to clean than I expected.

I love Fresh Step and have been using it for years. My normal bag weighs 7 pounds. That's the size I can handle. I used to have those plastic scoop bags, but the smell wouldn't hold back. Throw the bags in the trash can, the trash can just smells awful. Now, having placed the pen in the tray, I pick up the empty pouch.
